Suicide Alertness Training Coming to Columbia College

We are pleased to announce there will be a safeTALK training on November 15th from 9:30-1 at Columbia College in the Manzanita Building.  Please share the attached flyer with friends and colleagues who may be interested in attending the training.

safeTALK is a suicide alertness training designed to move beyond the stigma and common tendencies to miss, dismiss, or avoid suicide.  Participants will learn to recognize invitations for help from people with thoughts of suicide, how to apply the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe), and then connect a person with thoughts of suicide to community resources that will keep them safe.  This is a 3 ½ hour training provided to the public free of charge thanks to Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funding provided by the Tuolumne County Behavioral Health Department.

Anyone interested in attending the training should contact me at (209) 533-1397 x226 or at rwhite@atcaa.org to register.
